Hunting:  Spring Bear and Turkey are still a month out with Bear opening April 15th and Turkey on April 8th.

Fishing: IT IS A NEW LICENSE YEAR FOR FISHING-So swing on into Bob Wards for your 2017 Fishing license.

Canyon Ferry: Time to get your boats ready. Two boat ramps have been opened up this week. These boat ramps are designated ramps due to the invasive mussels. There will be inspection and decontamination stations boaters will be required to stop. There is a “local boater” program allowing boaters to take an educational training on invasive species. Once this training is complete the boater will pledge and sign an agreement to only use that boat on Canyon Ferry.  Fishing for rainbow trout is really picking up, the spawn has started so using anything pink such as Czech nymphs, pink scuds, pink San Juan worms, and egg patterns are really getting these fish active!

Hauser: Devil’s elbow is now open with similar results when using pink egg patterns, scuds San Juan Worms and Czech nymphs. Big aggressive rainbow trout are fun to pull in on the fly rod.

Holter: Gates of the mountains are open. Jet boats have been going up river getting those big spawning rainbow trout. If you aren’t fly fishing using maribou jigs with an orange head with black or dark maribou has been producing the spawning rainbows as well.

Missouri: Still pink, sow, BWO’s, and San Juan worms seem to be the ticket. If fishing gets slow or dies, try tying on something new!
