Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks is seeking public input on a proposal to purchase a perpetual conservation easement in Valley County.
The proposed property, known as Ash Coulee, is located five miles southeast of Hinsdale. The property totals approximately 4,800 deeded acres of native grassland and Milk River riparian areas, and provides access to about 180 acres of Bureau of Land Management land.
Through this scoping phase, FWP invites the public to identify any issues and concerns related to this proposal. FWP will then prepare an environmental assessment and invite further public comment before recommending a final decision to the Fish and Wildlife Commission.
The scoping period will run or 30 days from April 12 – May 11, 2017. All comments need to be received by 5 p.m. on May 11. The scoping notice and associated map of the property can be found at fwp.mt.gov under the “News” tab and “Public Scoping.”
