Trigger pull is one of the toughest parts of shooting to master.  Long range shooters know it, but muzzleloading enthusiasts see it.

Long range shooters can apply too much, too little or inconsistent pressure or flinch just before or after pulling the trigger.  The flinch and it’s effects can happen in milliseconds which is hard to see without slow motion cameras.  But muzzle loading enthusiasts have such a long delay between the click of the hammer to the muzzleblast.  Shooting a muzzleloader accurately requires the ultimate in concentration and good form.

In this video by wavelength1970 that delay is captured on video in slow motion and highlights the necessity for perfect shooting form – and it’s also just cool to watch powder explode.

Check out this video and let us know if you think flintlocks are the ultimate test of trigger pull discipline.
