Just Carl Cook of Corvallis pled guilty to poaching a trophy deer and letting and illegally killed bear rot in an unplugged freezer. A year ago, someone called a game warden to report a stink coming from a freezer at a cabin on Soft Rock Road. Game wardens investigated and discovered the deer and bear, no license attached. The man’s hunting and fishing license will be suspended for the next decade and required to spend 10 days in jail and pay restitution of $2500 and a $100 fine.
