Night hike: Things that go bump

Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) is hosting a night guided hike at Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park on June 17th

 

Things that go bump, is a night walk dedicated to the creatures that roam the skies at night. .  You can expect to see the most famous species of the park, the bats.   There is also an opportunity to see the Common Poorwill and the Common Nighthawk.

What: Things that go Bump night walk. This is an easy 1 mile hike up the park road, and is appropriate for all ages.   This is a night walk so bring warm clothes, good walking shoes and a flashlight.

 

When: Saturday, June 17th at 8:00 PM

 

Where: Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park, 25 Lewis & Clark Caverns Rd, Whitehall, MT

From the exit 274 on I-90 we are 13 miles south on Highway 287 and 5 miles west on MT 2.

From the Cardwell exit 256 on I-90 we are 7 miles east along MT 2.

Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park features one of the largest known limestone caverns in the Northwest filled with spectacular stalactites, stalagmites, columns, and helictites. The park also features camping, trails to hike or bike, a state-of-the-art visitor center, interpretive displays, a gift shop, food and beverage concessions, amphitheater, and interpretive events presented during the summer months.
