Not all trail mix is created equal.
Trail mix is a valuable asset to the hungry hiker but good trailmix should beg to be eaten.
To make trailmix that is filled with protein and great flavor start by frying oats in a pan with margarine while mixing until browned, then add peanut butter and mix until the oats are coated. Let the peanut butter fried oats stand until cool.
Now for the fun part, add dried fruits, carob chips and nuts. For those with a sweet tooth, try adding m&ms.
