Montana Fish Wildlife and Parks investigated the attack Sunday after a man was attacked near the east side of Hungry Horse Reservoir.
The Flathead Beacon reports the man was hunting with a partner over the weekend when the attack occurred. The pair shot at the bear with firearms and the animal ran off.
The Wildlife Human Attack Team is investigating the incident. The extent of the man’s injuries and the bear’s species was not immediately released.
