Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) announced that Flathead Lake State park-Finley Point will close early for the season on Tuesday, September 5th, 2017. The park will close early to begin construction on a campground improvement project which will enhance visitor experience.

The park improvements would provide more open space around motor home campsites and add a new campsite loop. Five walk-in, tent-only camping sites will be added as well as 2 yurts to further expand the variety of camping availability.

The park entrance will be widened to allow safer, easier access for motor homes and trailers. The park’s seasonal camp host facilities will move north of the park entry road. Camp host volunteers stay on-site at a state park during the summer to assist visitors.

New landscaping and vegetative cover is planned between campsites to add privacy and visual appeal.

The park will reopen in the Spring of 2018.
