It began with a spot and stalk that got him to within 35 yards on Friday (Sept 1) but the wind was blowing too hard for him to feel comfortable with the archery shot.
He repeated the challenge of stalking to within 35 yards again the next day and made good on the shot. Heath says he hasn’t measured the antelope yet but “it is about as good as it gets”.
Heath wants to give a shout out to Simmons broad heads – made right here in Montana. Heath used the new 100 grain Simmons head to put this awesome animal down quickly.
Congratulations to Heath Helgert. What a great way to start the season!
