Helena Area Fishing Report 10.10.17

Canyon Ferry: Rainbow trout are being caught from shore using worms, marshmallows, and Powerbait near Confederate and the Silos.  Walleye and rainbow trout are being caught trolling cranks throughout the south end and mid-reservoir in 15 to 30 feet of water. A few yellow perch are being caught from shore around the Silos using worms. Adam Strainer, FWP, Helena

Hauser:  Rainbow fishing continues to be very good from both shore and boat.  Trolling cowbells around the Black Sandy-White Sandy area is producing trout. Fishing from shore at the Causeway Bridge has been producing rainbows while using worms, marshmallows or wooly buggers.  A few walleye are being caught around Devil’s Elbow while jigging.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena

Holter:  Rainbow fishing is good while trolling cowbells, rapalas or orange and brown crankbaits from Split Rock to Holter Dam.  Rainbows are being caught from shore on worms at Holter Lake Ramp and Log Gulch. Perch are being caught in 30 to 50 feet of water while using jigs and worms.  Walleye fishing is slow.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
