Helena Area Reservoirs Fishing Report 10.2.17

Canyon Ferry: Rainbow trout are being caught from shore using worms and/or marshmallows at Confederate, White Earth, and the Silos.  Walleye and yellow perch are being caught trolling, with a worm harnesses tipped with worms, throughout the south end and mid-reservoir in 15 to 30 feet of water. Walleye and yellow perch continue to be caught from shore around the Silos using worms. Adam Strainer, FWP, Helena
Hauser:  Rainbows fishing continues to be very good from both shore and boat.  Trolling cowbells around the Black Sandy-White Sandy area and Devil’s Elbow is producing trout. Fishing from shore at the Causeway Bridge has been producing rainbows while using worms, marshmallows or wooly buggers.  Walleye and perch fishing are slow.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
Holter:  Rainbow fishing is good while trolling cowbells, Thomas Lures or crankbaits from Split Rock to Holter Dam.  Rainbows are being caught from shore on worms at Holter Lake Ramp and Log Gulch. Perch fishing has slowed down and the fish have moved out to deeper water.  Perch are being caught in 30 feet of water while using jigs and worms.  Walleye fishing is slow.  Troy Humphrey, FWP, Helena
