The hunting of all mountain lions in southwestern Montana hunting districts 313 and 316, including portions of Park, Carbon and Sweet Grass counties, will close at one-half hour after sunset on Friday, Dec. 29, 2017.

Male Mountain Lion Hunting To Re-Open In HD’s 323, 324, 325 & 327

The hunting of all mountain lions in Montana hunting districts 323, 324, 325 and 327, which include portions of Beaverhead and Madison counties will re-open for the harvest of one male lion. The taking of a male mountain lions location was misreported.

The hunting of all mountain lions in several Montana hunting districts in Region 3 will close at one-half hour after sunset on Dec. 28, 2017:

  • HD 318 & 335 – which includes portions of Lewis & Clark and Jefferson counties.
  • HD’s 323, 324, 325 & 327 – which includes portions of Beaverhead and Madison counties.

The closure notice for the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota or sub-quota for the districts had been met.
