(Kalispell, MT) – In celebration of National Winter Trails Day on Saturday, January 20, Lone Pine State Park will be offering free snowshoe rentals (weather dependent) along with a free guided hike. This is a great opportunity to try out snowshoeing for the first time. The guided hike will offer an opportunity for all skill levels to enjoy the winter wonderland at Lone Pine State Park. This time of year, the park looks unique with its snow-covered trees and wildlife tracked forest floor.

The hike will start at 2 p.m. and last approximately an hour and a half and will take place on foot if there is no snow. Participants should be prepared for a moderately difficult trail with trail inclines and declines. Snowshoes are available in both children’s and adult sizes on a first-come first-serve basis. Snowshoe users will only be charged for rental if they call to reserve pairs in advance by calling the Lone Pine Visitor Center at 406-755-2706 ext. 2.

For more information, call the park visitor center at (406) 755-2706.
