Congratulations to 13 year-old James Cashell as he is pictured with his certified Montana record Lake Chub from July 2017 and his January 2018 cow bison from West Yellowstone!
The Lake Chub was caught with fly tackle in Montana’s high country.  At .075 pounds, it was three times the weight of the previous record.
The bison was harvested on public land after tracking a migrating herd through deep snows near the Madison River.  James used a Remington Model 7 in 7mm-08 with hand-loaded Barnes Tripleshock Bullets.  Included in the picture is James, myself (in the hat), and family friend Kenny White of Missoula.

Excellent work, James!!
