The best of the Mountainfilm On Tour comes to Montana

The film festival, featuring outdoor sports, adventure, and environmental films will play in Great Falls, Helena, and Whitefish in March to support wilderness stewardship and conservation projects in The Bob.

Hungry Horse, MT—February 7, 2017 —  In March, the Bob Marshall Wilderness Foundation will be hosting the Mountainfilm on Tour, bringing a selection of culturally rich, adventure-packed and incredibly inspiring documentary films to three cities in Montana.

Curated from the films shown at the Mountainfilm festival held every year in Telluride, Colorado, the diverse selection highlights adventure, an indomitable spirit, and a responsibility for our environment and wild places. Using the power of film, art and ideas, the tour hopes to inspire audiences to create a better world.

The BMWF’s three-day film tour will visit Great Falls, Helena, and Whitefish in a state-wide, community event.  All the proceeds will help bring over 350 volunteers into The Bob Marshall Wilderness Complex in 2018 as they work to keep trails open, manage invasive weeds, protect wildlife habitat, and offer wilderness experiences with the power to change lives and instill a land ethic.

The dates for the events are:

  • March 20: Great Falls- Lewis & Clark Interpretive Center
  • March 21: Helena- Myrna Loy Center
  • March 22: Whitefish- O’Shaughnessy Center
