– Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks has written a draft environmental assessment (EA) for a proposal to accept a donated quarter-acre public access easement to create a wildlife viewing area that provides the public with a safe area for wildlife viewing and outdoor educational opportunities.

The easement would provide access to incredible wildlife viewing opportunities not currently available elsewhere in the valley, as well as provide an outdoor classroom for the local schools. The project area is located northwest of Kalispell on West Valley Road in Flathead County (T29N, R22W, S22).

The draft is out for a 14-day public review through 5:00 p.m., March 13, 2018. Copies of the draft EA are available at the FWP office, 490 N. Meridian Rd., Kalispell; Montana State Library, 1515 E 6th Ave., Helena; FWP State Headquarters, 1420 E 6th Ave., Helena; the FWP website at fwp.mt.gov/news/publicNotices/environmentalAssessments/developmentImprovementsAndEnhancements; and available for viewing at local libraries.
