A message from the Captain:
Ross Tate texted me and told me that he was going to go fishing over at Gates of the Mountains and wanted to know if I knew of any fishing information. I told him I would call the Marina at the Gates on Holter Reservoir and find out if there was still ice by the ramp. The person that answered the phone said that all the ice was clear and that boats were using the ramp for the last couple of days. “There is no ice as far as the eye can see” , he said. He also said the ramp opens at 7:30am and there is a $8 charge to launch your boat. He added that the fish don’t start biting until about 11am when the water warms up. Trout fishing is normally pretty good this time of the year on Holter Reservoir.
