The Bozeman Daily Chronicle is reporting that three individuals have been arrested for allegedly entering a closed area of Yellowstone Park, near where scores of bison have been illegally released from study pens over the past few weeks.

Arrested were 22-year-old Hannah Ponder, 25-year-old Cody Cyson and 36-year-old Thomas Brown, who are allegedly tied to the group Wild Buffalo Defense.

The trio allegedly chained themselves to a squeeze shoot in protest at one point.

None of the individuals are from Montana. Ponder is from Donnelly, Idaho; Brown is from Hardwick, Vermont; and Cyson is from Minnetonka, Minnesota.

They have been banned from the park for five years.
