Wyoming Approves Grizzly Hunt

Wyoming Fish and Game Commissioners voted on Wednesday to allow a fall grizzly season. The season will allow the harvest of up to 23 grizzly bears, Montana Untamed reported.

The lower 48’s first grizzly hunt since the 1970s follows the relaxation of federal protections of grizzly bears in the Yellowstone ecosystem. Montana opted out of a hunt in 2018 in anticipation of a legal challenge and Idaho has approved the harvest of a single bear.

Montana Untamed reported Wyoming will allow for baiting in this year’s hunt.
