Thank you to Snappy’s Sport Senter for the following northwest Montana fishing report:
Flathead Lake
Hearing reports with good numbers of Lake Trout starting to show up. Try Brad’s Super Baits Fire Tiger 3” behind some flashers. A few Lake Whitefish showing up near the Delta, a bit hit & miss though. Try the South End of the lake for Perch and Smallmouth Bass.

Flathead River – Main Stem
Starting to look good. Green water coming down and clearing up nicely. Hearing reports of nice fish hitting the San Juan Worms or small wet flies. The forks are starting to clear up as well.

South Fork – Flathead River
Above the reservoir is looking better. Still high but clearing up nicely.

Lake Mary Ronan
Good Perch action going on. Try small brown tubes or Pete’s Crappie Candy down about 20’-25’. The Salmon are still hitting early morning or late evening.

Smith Lake
Lot of small Pike (1-3lb). Try spinnerbaits or frogs.

Island Lake
Lot of Perch (7-10”) and some Bass action. Spinnerbaits are pulling in good numbers of small Pike as well.

Echo Lake
Good Bass action. Try KVD jerk baits or drop shotting Robo worms or tubes. Try the main lake for Whitefish down 40’-50’ with Pete’s Whitefish Slayers.

Beaver Lake
Good Rainbow trolling flicker shads or small flat fish. Also hearing good reports for Salmon.

Bitterroot Lake
Still hitting the Salmon well. Trolling and Jigging 50’ at the South end. Very nice fish. Also hearing scattered reports of Rainbows as well.

Ashley Lake
Good Salmon here as well. Trolling with lead core 3 colors, cowbells and wedding ring spinners.

McGregor Lake
Troll the shorelines in the early mornings for Rainbow. Trolling deeper (60’-80’) for the Lake Trout with flasher and fly rig or spoons.

Little McGregor Lake
Good numbers of fillet size Perch (7-10”) and a few Rainbow reports coming in.

Hubbart Reservoir
Excellent trout fishing. Casting or trolling your Thomas Cyclones or bait fish with Power Bait should get you going.

Lower Stillwater
Great Pike (2-5lb) and a few good Perch in the deep weeds.

Dickey Lake
Lots of small Salmon and jigging a few Smallmouth Bass as well.
