Meetings Set to Discuss 10-Year Fisheries Management Plan for Upper Missouri

Fish, Wildlife and Parks will hold five information meetings on the planning process for the next 10-year fisheries management plan, covering Canyon Ferry, Hauser and Holter reservoirs and the Missouri River between Toston and Holter dams.

The current management plan will expire in 2019. The upcoming open houses will provide information on proposed changes and seek comments during August and September. FWP will take the proposed plan to the commission in October, which will also include a public comment period. The plan is expected to be completed in December and implementation would begin in January 2019.

Meeting dates and locations are:

July 17 – 7 pm – Great Falls – FWP Regional Headquarters, 4600 Giant Springs Road.

July 19 – 7 pm – Butte – FWP Area Resource Office, 1820 Meadowlark Lane

July 23 – 7 pm – Bozeman – FWP Regional Headquarters, 1400 South 19th

July 24 – 7 pm – Helena – MT WILD, 2668 Broadwater Ave.

July 25 – 7 pm – Townsend – Community Room, Library, Broadwater K12 School
