All,
Chinook fishing on the upper Salmon River from Ellis downstream to the Colston Corner boat ramp remains open, although the fishing has been difficult. Angler effort and catch rates dropped a bit. For the ~2.5 weeks the season has been open in this stretch, anglers have harvest an estimated 51 adult Chinook and 13 jacks, for a season total of 64 fish. See table below from Jon Hansen and Brent Beller for harvest, effort and catch rate info.
Pahsimeroi hatchery continues to trap Chinook but the numbers are slowing down a bit (see below). To date, 793 hatchery Chinook salmon have been trapped at the Pahsimeroi.

There’s still some fish that will keep trickling in to the Pahsimeroi so best of luck to those of you that are able to get on the water!
