Montana Wolf Hunters and Trappers ROCKED

Wolf hunters and trappers harvested a total of 295 wolves for the 2018/2019 season!  Excellent work!

Montana’s wolf hunting season started with archery-only from September 7th through the 15th and the general season opening on September 15th and closing on March 15th. The wolf trapping season opened on December 15th and closed on February 28th.  Awesome work to everybody who went out after wolves, and congratulations to the people who actually tagged and/or trapped any!

Note that with depredation, incidental and other methods/circumstances (aside from sportsmen out hunting and trapping), the total number of wolf mortality ended up being 319 wolves.  But, sportsmen in the state took 295 of them.  SO AWESOME!

Here’s the breakdown of the final numbers from MT FWP (via hunting and trapping) as of March 15th.  Again, great work, wolf hunters and trappers!
