BILLINGS – The Captain Clark Fishing Access Site on the Yellowstone River east of Pompeys Pillar reopened to all traffic Tuesday after crews replaced a collapsed culvert and repaired a flood-damaged road.

The Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks site was closed to all but walk-in traffic last week because of the bad culvert and flood damage.

In south central Montana, only the Rosebud Isle Fishing Access Site at Fishtail remains closed to all traffic. It was closed in March after an ice jam pushed West Rosebud Creek out of its banks, flooding the site and filling it with dangerous slabs of ice. It will remain closed until FWP crews can clean up and repair the damage. The department has no estimate on how long that will take.
