This cool weather is a blessing if you’re around to fish the Madison River right now. The flows have gone down and the water color is that great bugger green that everyone loves. This is a small window for fishing and expect flows to come back up once the warm weather hits again. Until then take advantage of some darn good fishing. More or less anything sub surface will get the job done. If your a nympher, try stone flies, worms, eggs, caddis, or mayflies. We have been doing best with the old turd and a worm rig. The fish are still pushed up along the banks so a short leash from the bobber works best. If your a streamer guy now is your time. These fish are hungry and wanting the meat right now. All sorts of rodents, mammals and small duckling flies will work. Seriously, the big articulated stuff right down to the smaller zonker flies will keep you bent. Again, keep them near the bank. Lots of great stuff arriving in the store. Say your read this fishing report and get 20% off your first item.
