(Whitehall, MT) – Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) will an evening owl walk at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park on Saturday, May 11 from 8:30pm to 11:00pm

Owls frequent the park year-round and are most vocal in early spring. Both Northern Pygmy-Owls and Northern Saw-whet Owls can be heard in the park depending on conditions and time of year. This year’s Owl Walk will meet at the Main (lower) Visitor Center at 8:30pm. The program begins with a short presentation followed by a walk up the park road, traversing a variety of ecosystems.

This program is most suitable for ages 10 and up. A bottle of water, snack, sturdy footwear, weather appropriate clothing, and binoculars are all recommended. Flashlights are optional and strongly discouraged while looking for owls. This program is $4 to all registered campers and Montana residents.
