BILLINGS – Indian Fort Fishing Access Site at on the Yellowstone River at Reed Point has reopened to vehicle traffic after Montana Fish, Wildlife and Parks crews repaired damage done by a rockslide.

FWP closed the site to all but walk-in traffic on April 30 after large rocks fell from an embankment along the access road. While crews waited to clean up the damage, another large rock fell from the embankment onto the roadway.

FWP removed rocks from the roadway but had to leave a particularly large boulder next to the road. Rocks are no longer blocking access, so FWP opened the road to all travel again this week.

FWP has plans to rebuild and reinforce the roadway in August to stabilize the embankment and minimize future closures.
