Montana State Parks (stateparks.mt.gov) will host the 11th Annual Birding Day at Lewis & Clark Caverns State Park on Sunday, June 9 at 7:30am. Birding Day is a celebration of the park’s bird diversity. Join Assistant Park Manager Tom Forwood on this walk which ventures into the park’s major bird habitat areas from the banks of the Jefferson River to the Cave Trail below the cliffs of Cave Mountain.

Participants will meet at 7:30am at the Park’s Main (lower) Visitor Center. The hike is approximately 2 miles with less than 500 feet elevation gained. Please bring binoculars, a snack, water, good footwear, transportation (carpooling is encouraged) and an enthusiasm for the park’s avian species. The field trip should end between noon and 1 PM.

For more information call the park visitor center at (406) 287-3541.
