Here’s a fishing report on the Blackfoot River by The Kingfisher out of Missoula:

The Blackfoot has continued to drop and is coming alive in a big way. Salmonflies have moved above Round Up Rapid, but the hatch is heaviest around middle river. Small goldens are all over, as well. Most fish are keyed into the goldens, but some bigger fish have been looking for the salmonfly. The fish will be pushed up in the willows and on the banks. Ripping streamers off the bank, or throwing a salmonfly, or a goldenstone tight to the willows is the way to go. Drop a prince nymph, rubber legs, yuk bugs, CDC pheasant tail, pearl green lightning bug, or THE WORM off your salmonfly and hold on. For streamers try head banger sculpins, sculpzillas, Big Horn buggers, wedge heads, dungeons, barely legals, and meat whistles.
