The Captain and Berny took their black lab, Lady, fishing for the first time on Holter Reservoir.
The fishing was challenging, but they managed their limit of trout on Tuesday. The trout were good size and will fill up Berny’s smoker. She uses Hi-Country Salmon brine for 48 hours and then smokes for 1 hour at 175 degrees….after that, she cans the trout for 90 minutes.
The Captain said the trout were mostly caught in water 11 feet deep trolling rapalas and spoons going 2 miles per hour.
