Beaverhead- Its terresterial season, a hopper, ant or beetle will get the fish looking up.  The streamer bite has been solid, there have been plenty of fish coming up for PMDs, and the nymph bite has been consistent as well.  It is getting warm and weedy though. If you head out this way, fish it early in the morning due to water temps.

Bitterroot/Blackfoot/Clarkfork/Rock Creek:  These rivers are fishing well. Attractor fishing is on!  Put on your favorite dry dropper and go to town. Any golden stones or yellow sallies with pheasant tails or hairs ears underneath will get the job done. There have been some PMDs and caddis out and about and cloud cover has some nice fish looking up. We are starting to see hoppers in most areas. Watch the water temps on these areas, as most are getting pretty warm and skinny.

Canyon Ferry – There are still a few trout being caught out this way, but its mostly a carp game now.

Hauser/Holter – The walleye bite has been pretty solid and the trout bite is picking up every day. Try a balanced leech if you do head out this way, the trout have been all over them.

Dailey Lake- Have not had a report from over here.  Balanced leech to ice cream cone should get the job done.

Hyalite- Both the lake and the creek are fishing well. Fishing the lake in the morning and evenings typically results in better fishing, along with fish eating on the surface. On the lake try running smaller purple hazes and adams on top, chironomids and midges under an indicator, or slow stripping a leach with a chironomid or soft hackle trailing. The creek has been fishing well also, and running a dry dropper rig is tough to beat. A smaller chubby or hippie stomper in the 12-16 range with a beadhead nymph such as a lightning bug or nympicator is a great rig.

Cliff and Wade –  Welcome to the Caribbean of Montana, its fishing well with leeches and chironomids, damselflies, and flying ants.

Quake Lake – Buggers and smaller streamers have been getting some healthy fish to the net.

Clark Canyon – Looking and fishing great. The fish are hungry for leeches and chironomids.

Hebgen- Hebgen is fishing really well. Bigger streamers or the leech under the indicator will put fish on the board. Also, damselflies and Callibeatis are out an about.

Harrison Lake – This is a good place to be right now. Leeches and chironomids will get the job done.

Ennis Lake – Gulper action is day to day. When its good its good and when its bad its bad. Try for a calm cloudy day. If you get lucky and hit this combo fishing can be epic.

Ponds Around Town – It is time, Go slay some bass! This is also a great place to bring kids if they are just getting into fly fishing. The ponds have a plethora of willing bluegill and bass to keep the focus on fun and fish.
