It is becoming increasingly popular that hunters are encountering predators while they are out elk or deer hunting.
Here is some footage of a hunter who shot wolves in self defense (posted in July of 2019), and although it isn’t clear where this hunt took place, it could very well happen in Montana. Here is his caption:
This video is about an elk hunt that went wrong. Cow calling for elk and a wolf came at me, so I stuck it with my bow. As more wolves popped out of the brush, I kept on sticking wolves until the dust settled. One of the most scariest experiences I ever encountered.
