The Gallatin bumped slightly with the rain last night but clarity is still good and it is fishing well. There has been the occasional baetis hatch but it has been spotty with the varying weather. With the colder temps, nymphing is a great option and hard to beat right now. The Rainbows are beginning to get a good feed going with the changes in the weather. A double nymph rig with a bigger stonefly such as a pats rubberlegs to a small mayfly nymph or midge dropper has been producing well. Streamer fishing has been picking up and will continue to get better as the temperatures drop. Smaller streamers in natural colors such as olive, white and black are working best. Be aware that there is road construction in the canyon, so plan accordingly.
