Wolf hunting season opened for archery hunters on September 7th, while rifle hunters got their start on September 15th and can go until March 15th.  Wolf trappers get their time on December 15th through February 28th.  So far, the total number of wolves harvested in Montana is at 39. Who is counting the seconds until the wolf trapping season opener?

Nice work, hunters!

Below are the WMUs with quotas:

A new state law allows landowners or their agents to take up to 100 wolves a year that potentially threaten livestock, domestic dogs or human safety. The quota will be examined in four 25-wolf increments. The Montana Fish & Wildlife Commission must approve the next increment toward the 100-wolf quota.

To report the harvest of a wolf, please call the Harvest Reporting line at 1-877-FWP-WILD (1-877-397-9453). Obtain current harvest info by calling 1-800-385-7826.
