Steelhead angler effort on the upper Salmon River was light during the first week of October. Bank anglers were mainly observed downstream of North Fork in location code 15, while boat anglers were more spread out with the majority found upstream of North Fork in location code 16. Anglers did not report catching a steelhead this week, and no anglers were found fishing downstream of the Middle Fork confluence in location code 14.

Conditions on the Salmon River were good throughout the weekend. The river is currently flowing at 1,340 cfs, which is 110% of average for today’s date and the visibility is clear.
