Brett French Presents: Red Lodge Mountain opens for weekend

Red Lodge Mountain ski area will open Saturday and Sunday as a preview to its regular season, which won’t start until the day after Thanksgiving. The ski area will open all the way to the top of the mountain to snowboarders and long-boarders. Reduced ticket prices can be found online. Opening early can present challenges to a small mountain like Red Lodge. Staff that normally wouldn’t start for another week has to be found. Runs have to be checked out by the ski patrol and groomed. Luckily, RLM has a large portion of its staff that returns each year. These veterans are essential in such early launches.
