Mountain Lion Hunting to Close in Several Hunting Districts

The hunting of mountain lions in several Montana hunting districts will close at one-half hour after sunset today, Thursday, December 12, 2019:

Will close to hunting of female mountain lions:

  • HD 313 & 316 – which includes portions of Park, Carbon & Sweet Grass Counties
  • HD 314 – which includes portions of Gallatin & Park Counties
  • HD 321, 332 & 334 – which includes portions of Beaverhead, Silver Bow & Deer Lodge Counties
  • HD 405, 447 & 471 – which includes portions of Cascade, Choteau, Judith Basin & Fergus Counties.

Will close to hunting of all mountain lions:

  • Region 6 except HD 680 & 690 – which includes portions of Hill, Garfield, Blaine, Phillips, Valley, Daniels, Sheridan, Roosevelt, McCone, Dawson & Richland

The closure notices for the hunt came shortly after Montana Fish, Wildlife & Parks officials received word that the pre-established harvest quota or sub-quota for the district(s) had been met.
