Use EXTREME caution on all water in our region!! The cold front moving in this weekend may help tighten up ice for next week’s fishing.

Reminder: Come in to Snappy’s for your 2020 Fishing Licenses and all your fishing gear!! Check new regulations for changes before heading out to your favorite fishing hole.

Ashley Lake
6-8in of ice main lake, but edges may be much less. Check conditions and use spud bar to make sure it is safe. Fishing good for 9-12in salmon. Use pink Swedish Pimples and glow/pink Ratt Finkees for best results.

Blanchard Lake
5-7in of ice on main body, but edges are starting to lose ice. Pete’s Tackle Sassy Stingers and Cascade Wonders are catching nice perch & crappie.

Bitterroot Lake
Main body of the lake has 5-7in of ice with edges breaking up a bit. Walk on only using extreme caution. Fishing is awesome for 11-20in salmon in 200-250ft water using Zimmer tackle in red, yellow and pinks. Use Hali jigs in the 20-30ft depths. Rainbows being caught using small twister tails and Kastmaster. Remember only 2 salmon over 12in allowed daily.

Crystal Lake
4-6in of good ice with salmon being caught in 10-12in size on Hali’s and pink Ratt Finkees. Watch for springs & open areas.

Echo Lake
7-8in of good ice. Fishing awesome for bass, whitefish, salmon and perch. Use caution on machines. Forage Minnows 4-5in of ice with some thawing on edges. Use extreme cation. Great fishing for bass, whitefish, salmon and perch. Use Forage Minnows, Hali’s, Swedish Pimples, Pete’s Tackle and Back Water Baits!

Flathead Lake
Fishing great off inlet to Flathead River for nice lake trout. Glow white Zimmer Tackle and Pete’s Tackle in gold/green and Trick Tackle all working nicely. Jig them with a piece of chartreuse cut bait. Check regs for size restrictions on lakers and release all bull trout.

Island Lake
7in of good ice and perching fishing is great for 6-8in perch. Try Hali’s, Demon Jigs and Pete’s Tackle tipped with maggots for best results.

Lake Mary Ronan
10in of good ice. Be careful along edges. Perch & salmon fishing really good using Hali’s, Ratt Finkees and Pete’s Sassy Stingers. Contact Mountain Meadows Resort for up to the minute conditions.

Lake Five
8in of good ice but be careful along the edges. Fishing feat for 6-8in salmon and perch.

Little McGregor
7in of ice and fishing good for 8-10in perch. Be careful along edges and use extreme caution.

McGregor Lake
Some ice and open water. Contact McGregor Lake Lodge for up to the minute conditions. Fishing good for large lake trout using white twister tails and Zimmer Tackle.

Lynch Lake
7in of good ice. Nice pike being caught using tip-ups and Jaw Jackers.

Lion Lake
5-6in of good ice. Few rainbows being caught using Swedish Pimples & Ratt Finkees.

Dickey Lake
6in of good ice. Salmon fishing is hot for 11-12in fish. Use Hali’s and Swedish Pimples with Mack’s Lures glow hook below.

Thompson Chain
Lower – 6in of good ice but edges coming off a bit. Use extreme caution. Fishing good for perch, salmon and trout.
Middle – 5in of good ice with edges coming off a bit. Good for pike & perch.
Upper – 6in of good ice with edges coming off as well. Good for pike.

All sloughs have open water and aren’t recommended for ice fishing.
