Be extremely cautious of ice conditions right now! Things change daily.

Ashley Lake
Still has 6-8in of ice. Salmon fishing is decent on the West side of the lake.

Bitterroot Lake
South end still has good ice – 6-8in. Salmon fishing good in deep water around 200-250ft for the big fish in the 14-18in range. For smaller fish try your shallower water. North end off Blue Grouse access is still ok. Off Lion Camp there is open water. Be sure to check your regs.

Smith Lake
Starting to open up. The ice is NOT Safe.

Thompson Chain
The shorelines are starting to erode.

Flathead River Sloughs
All open. Low water is making access difficult with the open water.

Church Slough
No Flotation Allowed until April 10th.

Echo Lake
Open Water

Whitefish Lake
Open Water

McGregor Lake
Starting to open up.

Flathead Lake
Good number of fish deep. Try 200-250ft to get those numbers. The Delta is fishing well for big fish. Use whole fish on the bottom around 15-30ft of water. Somers Bay Launch and Sportsman Bridge are both open.

East Bay is reporting some nice perch showing up. Check your gets on perch limit for the lake.

Flathead River – Main Stem
Fishing is decent. For the flies try some small nymph patterns or small dry on a nice warm day. Spin fishing seems to be hitting the gold Little Cleo’s.
