The greasy clay found on some Eastern Montana roads took a tight hold on my pickup during the final weekend of the turkey season. Gumbo, as we like to call it, has bogged down many a vehicle over the years, often during the antelope opener. Luckily, I still had cell phone service and was able to call my cousin who came to the rescue. A couple of years ago, on the same road, a U.S. Air Force Humvee got stuck. They had to call in a Chinook helicopter to lift it out. Luckily, I wasn’t stuck that bad.
