Michael Daus lives in Jackson, Wyoming, just south of Grand Teton and Yellowstone national parks. He enjoys visiting the areas with his wife and twin children. On May 31, with few people in the park, Daus and his family stumbled upon a wild interaction: a grizzly bear attempting to bring down a young bison. Daus filmed much of the 17-minute encounter on his cell phone, edited it down to five minutes, and posted it online. Since then the images have become an internet sensation.
