Wildfire season arrives

Wildfire season has officially started.

20-25 homes were briefly evacuated near Clancy on Saturday as small wildfire reported around 3:30 p.m. grew to more than 1,500 acres. As of Sunday night the fire was 15 percent contained and had consumed two outbuildings.

Near Lewis and Clark Caverns State Park, a fire burned 170 acres on Saturday. Rains helped firefighters on Sunday and the fire was under control.
