The Bureau of Reclamation is renaming areas with potentially offensive names at Canyon Ferry Reservoir.

According to an article by Tom Kuglin in the Missoulian, a notice has been posted by the agency:

“Notice: The Bureau of Reclamation is changing the name of Chinaman’s Campground. As the agency works to confirm a new and appropriate name for this campground, the campground will be referred to as Campground 1,” the announcement says.

The article is accompanied by a photo that shows where duct tape was placed over “Confederate Campground.” It appears that someone has ripped the duct tape off.
