Bear Creek Fire at 7,000 acres

The Bear Creek Fire burning near Lemhi Pass increased to 7,000 acres yesterday.

An 11 p.m. update gave the following forecast for Tuesday:

“Fire behavior will by dynamic tomorrow, as a fire weather watch is in effect from 4pm-12am for lightning and winds gusting up to 40mph. Crews will work to hold lines on the north side of the fire and link existing fireline with the Continental Divide, with support from heavy equipment. Activity in other areas will be dependent on fire activity overnight and into tomorrow.”
