Thanks to an easement across three miles of private land, hunters, hikers and horseback riders now have easier access to the northeast side of the Crazy Mountains. The deal with the McFarland White Ranch near Two Dot will allow access to the Big Elk Creek drainage. Although hunters may think this is a great new opportunity to harvest elk in an area that hasn’t seen much use, most of the overpopulation of elk in the area remain on lower, private terrain. Still, it’s always nice to have more room to spread out.
