Temperature drops will certainly be changing the fishing patterns. Most notably, we might actually see a Whitefish bite pick up in the river. With the season change, be ready to try different tactics and change it up. What you use today might not work tomorrow.

Lake Mary Ronan
The Perch seem to be sitting around 15ft deep. Use your Backwater Ankle Biter Craws in motor oil or Pete’s Tackle Beergut in pink/brown combos.

Flathead Lake
The Lakers are sitting deep, around 70-100ft down. But they are hitting the double glow tail white jigs with a pike minnow tail on them. Dragging some Flatfish along the bottom has proven successful for some also.

Flathead River
Starting to hear more and more reports of the Whitefish. Most reports say the Backwater Perch Madness has been good. The fall run is just picking up. Use a 1/16-1/8oz green jig head for those soft plastics. The Whitefish in the river have been slow at best. However, dropping temps should be encouraging the bite. Backwater Ankle Biter Perch Madness with a 1/8oz jig head might just be your ticket.

Flathead River Sloughs
The pike are still biting. Get out your gold Husky Jerks and give them a go. Crappie are doing well, get down to about 15ft and let your Pete’s Tackle Crappie Candy or Backwater Ankle Biters do the work.

Hungry Horse Reservoir
Head up towards Spotted Bear for your big spawners right now. Take your Husky Jerks and Kamloopers with you for best success.

Lake Francis
We have been hearing some good reports out here. Trolling or bottom bouncing with walleye spinners or and airplane jig with a crawler have been getting some good success for people.
