Snowmobiler rescued near Hebgen Lake, broken shoulder, punctured lung suspected

Dispatch received a 911 call reporting a single snowmobile crash 5 miles north of West Yellowstone near the Madison Arm of Hebgen Lake. The injured snowmobiler, a 43-year-old man, had suffered a possible broken shoulder and punctured lung when the snowmobile he was riding left the trail and struck a tree.

Volunteers from the Gallatin County Sheriff Search and Rescue in West Yellowstone responded to assist with the rescue. Rescuers located the snowmobiler, loaded him into a specialized litter, and transported him to a waiting

Hebgen Basin Rural Fire District

ambulance. The man was then transported to the Big Sky Medical Center for further evaluation.
