The Bitterroot is free of ice, although there is some shelf ice in places. It looks above freezing for most days this week with some snow in the forecast. That means fishing should be pretty good in the afternoons. It’s mainly a nymphing game right now with only a few fish rising to midges and small winter stones. San Juans, Princes, Jig PTs, Perdigons and Rubberlegs. Streamer fishing low and slow is another option. Get your streamers down and barely crawl them back to you or just dead drift them. Black/Gold, Olive/Gold and White/Gold are great colors for this time of year.
