Mother nature isn’t always kind.  Frigid winds and pelting sleet and excessive snow can slow you down, and if you’re not ready to leave yet, protection from the elements may be the only way you can stick around.  There are several different types of ice fishing “huts”, including everything from portable huts to huge “mansion cabin” shanties that include luxuries like heat, water and even electricity from a built-in generator.  Whichever you choose, shelter of some sort is definitely a plus.
