KQBL, 105.1 FM joins the radio show family

KQBL, 105.1 FM, has become the 18th radio station in the Montana Outdoor Radio Show statewide network. We're always happy to have a new addition to our radio family and it strengthens our Billings market which already boasts of the Mighty 790 on the AM dial.

FWP, friends, family and river users gather to dedicate Jeffrey's Landing, a new fishing access site on the Stillwater River named in memory of Jeffrey Knudson. Jeffrey, 14, of Billings, was an avid young fly fisherman and fly tyer who died in a tragic vehicle accident in March. He was the son of Steve and Cary Knutson and the grandson of "Walleye" Wayne and Jackie Knudson, of Florence and and Seeley Lake and Carroll and Davilyn Nelson, of Ryegate. Friends of his family contributed to development of the new fishing access site.

Hi-Country tip of the week

For larger fillets of fish – for example, King Salmon, Halibut, Kamloop Rainbows, etc. -- cut/score laterally about half way thru the flesh every 1.5 or 2 inches to allow the brine to penetrate to the middle of the meat. This will provide for a better and more balanced taste.
